| Our most spectacular items! These maps have to be seen to be properly appreciated. Exceptionally crafted by artison/artist Mark Sciepura. Born in Communist Poland, Mark was always intrigued by maps. At the fall of the Communist regime, 15-year old Mark was able to leave Poland and travel throughout Europe, then the U.S, and eventually South America. While in Brazil, where he now lives, Mark learned the process of pyrography, or fire-art. Mark literally burns lines into ox leather using simple hand tools. He then uses natural dyes for coloration and a natural vegetable solvent to preserve the leather. Finally, he uses a natural paste to shine the finished product. The result is an astounding work of art which will never, ever fade or deteriorate! All maps come complete with wooden hanging rods and are perfect for home and office. All are exceptional values! |
