Steel Apprentice stuck the unmanned
1910 built lighthouse structure in a heavy fog. Two-thirds of the lighthouse collapsed into
the sea. The remainder of the lighthouse structure was demolished and the existing
skeletal tower was erected onto the repaired caisson base.
