*Current Owner~~ State of New Jersey lease to Maurice River Historical Society
*Waterway Location~~ Delaware Bay at the Maurice River entrance
*Significant Feature~~ While inactive, a fire in 1971 almost completely devastated the
lighthouse. The Maurice River Historical Society was able to restore the lantern room and
roof, enabling the U. S. Coast Guard to replace the lens and put the lighthouse back into
service in 1980. The remainder of the lighthouse is still in the restoration process.
