*Tower~~ 43 feet
*Elevation~~ 32 feet above lake level
*Markings~~ Yellow w/ red roof
*Light Pattern~~ fixed white
*Existing Buildings~~ Keeper's house, oil house and outhouse still exist
*Automated~~ 1926
*Original Lens~~ Third and one half Order Fresnel
*Current Lens~~ 300mm, solar powered, mounted to gallery
*Open to Public?~~ Yes
*Current Owner~~ Wisconsin Dept. of Natural Resources leased to Door County Historical
Society
*Waterway Location~~ Strawberry Passage, east channel into Green Bay, Lake Michigan
*Significant Feature~~ Fifth Order Fresnel lens installed in 1918 remains in the lantern,
though unlit. Lighthouse is iIdentical to nearby
Chambers Island Light except that the
tower was constructed to be a different shape so the lighthouses could be distinguished
from each other in daylight hours.
