*Light Pattern~~ Repeating pattern of two second white flash followed by a 1.5 second
eclipse, then a 5 second white flash followed by a 1.5 second eclipse (with one red
sector)
*Existing Buildings~~ Keeper's quarters
*Automated~~ 1924
*Original Lens~~ Third Order Fresnel
*Current Lens~~ Original remains in operation
*Open to Public?~~ Yes (upon request of 14th USCG District)
*Current Owner~~ U. S. Coast Guard
*Waterway Location~~ Pacific Ocean at Waikiki Beach, between Maunalua Bay and Mamala
Bay
*Significant Feature~~ When the existing lighthouse was built in 1917-1918, the lantern
room and Fresnel lens from the previous 1899 tower was removed and placed upon the
new structure. The keeper's house is now home to the U. S. Coast Guard's 14th District
Commander.
