*Light Pattern~~ Flashing red every six seconds

*Original Lens~~ Fifth Order Fresnel
*Current Lens~~ 155mm, solar powered
*Open to Public?~~ Wharf only (as part of Salem Maritime National Historic Site)
*Current Owner~~ National Park Service
*Waterway Location~~ Salem Harbor
*Significant Feature~~ Due to the proximity to Salem Proper, this lighthouse never was
assigned an official "keeper", merely a "caretaker" until an automated acetylene system
was installed in 1917. Built in conjunction with
Hospital Point Range and Fort Pickering
Light to help guide ships into Salem Harbor.
