*Significant Feature~~ Due to steadily encroaching seas, three previous towers have
been lost. The premise of a skeletal tower was that if the sea once again encroached this
fourth tower, it could be dismantled, then rebuilt at a safer location. Such a scenario
became reality when, in 1916, a large storm caused so much beach to erode that in 1918,
the tower was dismantled and moved back 1/4 mile.
