*Light Pattern~~ Three white flashes every 30 seconds
*Existing Buildings~~ Sound building (attached to tower), 3 sealed cisterns, high foot
bridge, whip antenna
*Automated~~ 1966
*Original Lens~~ Fourth Order Fresnel
*Current Lens~~ VRB-25, solar powered
*Open to Public?~~ No
*Current Owner~~ U. S. Coast Guard
*Waterway Location~~ Southwest entrance to Coos Bay
*Significant Feature~~ The third lighthouse built at this location. For a short time, all three
lighthouses stood within a short distance of each other. In 1936, the original lighthouse
was dynamited to the ground. The second lighthouse was moved, tower removed, and
used as the keeper's house for a time, until it too was demolished in 1960's. Constucted
from the same plans as Washington's Point Robinson Lighthouse.
