*Waterway Location~~ Straits of Mackinac, Lake Huron
*Significant Feature~~ This is the third lighthouse at this site, (a skeletal tower was
constructed nearby in 1924, to be replaced yet again by the current cylindrical D9 tower).  
The original lighthouse at this site, erected in 1828, was the second lighthouse built on
Lake Huron (
Fort Gratiot was the first). To locals, this island is known as "Bob-lo".
