*Light Pattern~~ flashing white light at 2.5 second intervals with a red sector from 82 to
150 degrees
*Existing Buildings~~ Keeper's quarters (integral to structure)
*Automated~~ 1964
*Original Lens~~ Fourth Order Fresnel
*Current Lens~~ 300mm, solar powered
*Open to Public?~~ No

*Waterway Location~~ South entrance to Craighill Channel from Chesapeake Bay
*Significant Feature~~ Caisson actually extends 82 feet below the surface of the water. In
1964, with the addition of a small nuclear reactor, Baltimore Lighthouse became the first
nuclear powered lighthouse in the world. The reactor was just a test and was removed
one year later.
